Maslow's hierarchy of needs is often portrayed in the shape of a pyramid, with the largest and lowest levels of needs at the bottom, and the need for self-actualization at the top, also the needs for people. This thoery was created by Abraham Maslow.
At the bottom of the pyrimid is the basic human needs to survive then going up is turning from needs to wants with luxuries at the top of the pyrimid.
This theory can be applied to media products as magazines would be at the top a luxury item as people do not need this to survive nor is it an essential everyday item.
